About

Growing up an athlete, I’ve always been interested in fitness……health, however, was another story. I spent years thinking “I don’t care about health. I just want to be skinny.” I would only focus on calories, eating as little of them as possible, and burning as many of them through exercise as possible. Then, when I got to college I started to learn more about nutrition…..and, well, obsess about it.

As you can imagine…..those big swings took a huge toll on my body, spirit, and mind.

I kept learning more and more about nutrition, wellness hacks, and different exercises until I was too overwhelmed to have a clear direction.

It wasn’t until I stepped away from the wellness industry, improved my spiritual life, and focused on healthy habits that actually worked for me that I started to understand true health.

My biggest lesson didn’t come from knowing what to eat, how to exercise, etc – it came from learning healthy habits that actually worked for me.

And I’m here to help you do the same.

We live in an age of endless information, often conflicting, and I want to help you find what works for you and help you to actually do those things. Because knowledge without action is, well, kind of pointless. And too much knowledge to where you’re frozen on which direction to go, is also pointless (and stressful!).

So let me help you tune out the wellness industry noise, drop into your own intuition, and actually implement those changes that you know you need to do to actually improve your health.

Guiding Principles

Leah’s Fit Health Coaching is guided by the same principles I use in my day-to-day life:

  •  Radical Self Responsibility
    • We may not have control over all of our circumstances – that’s okay. We do what we can, where we can.
  • Honesty
    •  Being anything less than honest is not only a disservice to others, but to ourselves. We are only our best when completely honest about where we are at.
  • Intentionality
    • Consciously choosing our actions, because they get us closer to where we want to be, aka our North Star.
  • Focus
    • Is focus a principle? It is for me! As we have so many different directions we can go, learning where to put focus is critical for succeeding.
  • Compassion
    • Compassion helps by being a friend when we are stuck and reminds us of our humanness.

Leah uses her diverse accreditations in her coaching practice, as she knows true wellness is multi-faceted. She knows from first hand experience what aspects of health are critical, and which are just noise. Learning how to add mindfulness, movement, proper nutrition, and stress management is necessary for health, but learning how to balance it all when life is hectic is the most important.

Leah hosts The Know Yourself First Podcast and spends her free time hiking and playing with her dog, Mazie.
